DreamWorks Pictures' "Need for Speed" marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and '70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action onscreen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes - one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, "Need for Speed" captures the freedom and excitement of the game in a real-world setting, while bringing to life the passion for the road that has made our love of cars so timeless.

The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Maddon (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey's shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn't commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out West.

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge - but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon - the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.

"Need for Speed" is presented by DreamWorks Pictures, produced by Patrick O'Brien, John Gatins and Mark Sourian, and directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay is by George Gatins. The story is by George Gatins & John Gatins, and, based on the video game series created by Electronic Arts. The film releases in U.S. theaters on March 14, 2014.

Fasten Your Seat Belts! "Need For Speed" is One Thrill Ride That You Don't Want to Miss!

Gamers have been familiar with the action of "Need for Speed" for about a decade, and DreamWorks' decided it was time to move the action from the small screen to the big screen. Enter Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul to play the lead in the non-stop action adaptation.

Paul plays Tobey Marshall, a guy whose life revolves around fast cars. During the day, he owns a garage that repairs them. At night, he and his crew street race to bring in more money. In an egotistical moment, Tobey agrees to partner with a former rival named Dino (Played by Dominic Cooper) to restore a car that once repaired, should sell for a couple of million dollars.

In an effort to raise the stakes, Dino wants Tobey and his friend, Little Pete, to race illegally imported cars with him. If Tobey or Little Pete wins the race, Tobey will get 75% of the restored car deal. If Dino wins, Tobey has to forfeit his 25% of the deal. While racing, Dino sends Little Pete off a cliff but it is Tobey who is arrested for his murder.

Two years go by. Out of jail on parole, and with a major vendetta to settle, Tobey bands friends together (some old, some new ones) for the race of a lifetime. Will he be able to avenge Little Pete's death ? Will karma finally catch up with Dino? Will Tobey get the money he truly deserves for his work on the car?

Need for Speed is truly a fast-paced, action-packed, thrill ride that is sure to entertain audiences everywhere. Take you date. Take your Dad. Take your son. Take your Mom and your daughter too! Stars Race to the "Need For Speed" Premiere in Los Angeles!!

Though the beautiful, fast cars are certainly front and center in DreamWork's new release, "Need For Speed," actors like Aaron Paul, Dominic Cooper and Michael Keaton also play huge parts in this fast-paced story. The film hits theaters on March 14 but recently the cast and crew celebrated with a star-studded premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
