"Jessie" Star Peyton List Greets Fans in West Virginia
The beautiful and sweet actress, Peyton List, stopped by the Charleston Town Center, in Charleston, West Virginia to meet with fans. Hundreds of kids and their patient parents stood in line to wait their turn to say, "Hi" to one of the stars of the Disney Channel series "Jessie."
A fashion show kicked off the Meet and Greet event, followed by a dance routine by a local dance group. The routine ended with the dancers on bended knee, pointing to an escalator, with Peyton descending. She was met by radio DJ, Coach Kidd, from Electric 102.7. He asked Peyton a few questions like what state she calls home (She was born in Florida, calls New York home, but lives in California while taping "Jessie"). She also talked about how she got started in show business and how she felt about visiting West Virginia ("Everyone is so nice," she gushed).
A table was set up and the stream of young fans began. While waiting for each person to approach, Peyton would wave to those watching from the second and third floors. Once the eager fan made it to the table though, they had Peyton's full attention. She would ask their name and carefully sign a photo, making sure to spell everyone's name right.
A lot of fans brought new pairs of socks to donate that were collected for the Union Mission. Helping others, meeting their favorite actress... it was a great day for Peyton and for her fans!

You'll Fall in Love With Listening to Tegan and Sara's "Heartthrob!"
By: Sarah Messer
Tegan and Sara's 7th album release is far from what you would expect from this veteran duo. Most fans know their signature indie style that feature deep cutting/emotional lyrics. Hearthrob isn't necessarily a change from the style, but merely just a different point of view or maybe, dare I say, style evolution.
Fans of the beloved album, "The Con" may find themselves somewhat at a lost at first, but no doubt it won't be long before they come around. It isn't guitar filled tracks; its melodic, hip, pop meets hipster driven beats. Each song is unique with the only similarities being how every song keeps your toe tapping, or head bouncing with its catchy constructed tunes.
Some definite stand outs on this album after a first listen are "I Was a Fool," a power ballad that is sure to win over even the toughest critic. Lyrically, this song is a wonderful, honest, story and the listener can definitely feel what Tegan is trying to convey.
"Drove Me Wild," is one of the catchiest tunes on the album. Every time this song comes on, one can only picture people standing in front of their mirror or in their bed room jumping around singing with their make-shift microphone.
"Love They Say," is an acoustic-style ballad. Again, another lyric driven song, you start to really see that this whole album is very personal.
Last but not least, there's "Closer.," Obviously, this track stood out from the day it was released as the first single. It quickly became one of the most popular songs on the radio. This song speaks for itself.
Fall in love with this album today! You can pick it up at most places where music is sold or download it on Itunes. You can also order it here:

What to Watch
Thursday, January 2 | 8:00PM EST | NBC | Community
Well folks, the day is finally here. Fan favorite Community is back January 2nd with back-to-back episodes. Creator Dan Harmon is back at the helm, and for the most part, the show's stars are returning to reprise their roles. But more on that below.
With Harmon's absence during the fourth season, the show naturally took a different direction, but its solid fan base remained loyal and hopeful, and NBC heard the pleas of viewers worldwide and renewed the series for a fifth season, reinstating the original showrunner and promising more groundbreaking comedy. Now, with study group members Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) and Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase) both graduated, the writers had to find new directions for many of the characters in order to keep the show alive. Thus, we can expect "Repilot," the first episode of the season, to be true to its name.
"You'll see as Dan said, it's a re-piloting of the show and a re-establishing of the characters," says McHale of the season premiere. "And Community lives because the characters are, I believe, incredibly grounded. And then that means that when that happens that the world can go crazy."
As McHale and fellow series regular Jim Rash described in a recent interview, the world of Greendale Community College is about to do just that once again. The new season promises tons of hilarious guest stars, a string of themed episodes, and even the return of some fan favorites. "There's another D&D episode," says McHale, calling back to a season two favorite, "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons." In between their sarcastic banter with each other (i.e., that McHale's body is airbrushed and Rash carries an Oscar in his back pocket at all times), the actors teased about what to look forward to, including an in-depth homage to a noted actor in episode three, a Logan's Run-themed episode, and some surprise appearances by people we would least expect to see.
Community has faced more than its share of challenges. Between angry voicemails, social media messages, resignations, firings, and re-hirings, this little-sitcom-that-could has had plenty to overcome, even if there weren't dips in ratings along the way. But as cast members and commentators have noted, all the backstage drama may have strangely helped keep the show alive.
"In a weird way the drama sort of kept us out there," says Rash. At any rate, it hasn't slowed the cast down. As McHale points out, "You know, with all the things that have happened with the show, when the material's so good you kind of forget about that stuff."
That quality of material (with the help of an incredible ensemble cast) has helped the show build and maintain a solid following over the last few years. If season five proves to be as strong as it sounds, then who knows? Abed's phrase "six seasons and a movie"* just might come true for this modern classic-even if he didn't get that wish for "The Cape."
*Did you spot this phrase in the background of the season four finale? It's one of many gags the set dressers have incorporated that sometimes require a re-watch to find.

The Sound of Music Live!
Reviews
The "Sound of Music Live" Brings Beautiful Music To Your Holiday Season!
Broadway shows, Carrie Underwood, "The Sound of Music,"... these are a few of our favorite things! Naturally, we were thrilled when NBC announced that they would be airing a broadway version of this beloved story live on television and that it would feature Carrie as "Maria".
Millions of people tuned in to watch the action unfold live but now the magic and the music have arrived on Blu-ray and DVD for fans to watch over and over again. Songs that are part of our childhood like "Do-Re-Mi" and "My Favorite Things," are given new life by an incredibly talented cast that combines Broadway veterans with fresh new faces, all of whom are worth getting to know.
Though the story remains the same (A young governess falls in love with the father of the seven children she is caring for), the cast and venue is different than the movie that has stood the test of time. "The Sound of Music Live" features a great cast, beautiful music and a production that should make the crew proud! Share this wonderful story with your friends and family this holiday season!

The Masked Man Is Worth Riding With! "The Lone Ranger" Rides on to Blu-ray and DVD!
By Derek Samms
December 17th sees another classic franchise revived on Home Entertainment with Disney's The Lone Ranger, based on the old Western hero of radio and television fame. Audiences have been both worried and excited about this one. We all love the masked man, but we've also seen beloved characters and their stories ruined by studios looking for their next summer blockbuster. Fortunately, the talented cast and the bold creative team give us far more delight than disappointment.
Attorney John Reid (Armie Hammer) heads to the town of Colby on the still-under-construction transcontinental railway to do his part in bringing justice to the West. After a thrilling train ride in which he narrowly escapes murderous thief Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner) with the help of Tonto (Johnny Depp), a mysterious Comanche warrior, John is recruited by his brother Dan (James Badge Dale) to ride with his band of Texas Rangers and bring Cavendish and his men to justice. Things turn sour in a hurry, though, and the situation leads John-at the urging of Tonto-to don the iconic mask and go after the bad guys himself. What follows is an action-packed adventure somewhere between a classic Western and Pirates of the Carribean.
See a clip from the film below:
;
That's no surprise given the names behind this movie. The film is made by the same team that brought us the Pirates series: producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Gore Verbinski, and writing team Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, with the addition of screenwriter Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road). This band of storytellers has earned a reputation for sweeping adventures that are pure, popcorn-munching fun, and that's what they provide us again here.
Ranger certainly has a lot going for it. It's entertaining from beginning to end, thanks to an engaging story and a reliable cast. Tonto and brothel-owner Red (Helena Bonham Carter) bring the same level of quirkiness we've come to expect from Depp and Carter. Given the talent surrounding him, 26-year-old Hammer has a lot to live up to, but he dons the mask with aplomb, giving us a hero we can both root for and laugh at. Indeed, the antics of Reid and Tonto stand out in this picture, giving credit to the skill of both Depp and Hammer at playing the physical comedy. The chemistry between the two also works well-a necessity for such an iconic duo.
Their relationship might have been a concern for some moviegoers. When one thinks of Tonto, what comes to mind is usually not a respectful portrayal of Native American history and culture, but a cliched sidekick of few words. To improve on this for a new audience, Depp and the creative team made him the storyteller and a key player in the story, taking care not to make him a stereotype while still paying homage to the original character. It's a fine line, but they managed to walk it. Tonto doesn't stray too far into the silly or the sagely. Instead, he has enough flaws and insight to make him both mysterious and relatable, a very human sort of character that a lot of films fall short of when portraying Native Americans.
Here's another clip
;
There are still a few aspects critics will not like. For all the Union Blue on screen, we don't see much honor among the soldiers, and some of the dialogue sounds more like 21st-century America than the Old West. A number of characters, shots, and plot points seem familiar too. In fact, certain pieces of the story seem identical to elements in one of Elliott and Rossio's previous films (to avoid potential spoilers, we won't say which). But if the filmmakers are reusing old tricks, it's because they work, and this story has enough originality to avoid feeling formulaic.
In the end, The Lone Ranger is just what you want it to be. It's loyal to the classic series but still has a fresh take to keep it interesting. There's comedy, drama, action, beautiful Western landscapes, and several unforgettable sequences atop train cars. That classic William Tell Overture even shows up in the score a few times, just enough for you to enjoy it. The film may or may not be Oscar fodder, but it's the perfect treat for family fun this holiday season!
Bonus features on the Blu-ray and DVD combo pack include a blooper reel, deleted scenes, and multiple behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the movie. See a sneak peak BTS below.
