GBK Hosts ‘Rock N’ Royalty’ Themed Gift Lounge for American Music Awards Weekend
Music, food, charity and celebs always go hand in hand when it comes to the American Music Awards and this year’s GBK Gift Lounge proved to be no different. Stars from music, television and movies all gathered at the SLS Hotel in West Hollywood to rock out to new artists, munch on snacks and check out the latest and greatest in rock n’ roll themed merchandise. EnterTeenment was lucky enough to be invited to the party. Here’s a brief recap.
Hip Hop artists, rock musicians and soul singers greeted us with their sounds as we walked through the doors onto the garden patio. New and up and coming artists were the feature here, with Hip Hop artist JDrew rapping, DJ eTunes spinning records, melodic tunes played by Mike Burke and Stazz, singer Angelyna Martinez and rockers Brad Standey & The Foxflies, Paul Nagi, Frequency 5, Neon Fangs, Barcode and DeQn Sue.
We snacked on items from SUSHIPOPPER, a new unique portable device that gives you a pop up snack right at your fingertips, and probiotic foods from Real Food. Real Life, Two Degrees all-natural vegan and guten-free bars and Polkatots Cupcakes. O.N.E. Coconut Water was on hand to help quench our thirst after those tasty treats.
Heading inside the banquet room just next to the terrace we were greeted by the folks from NYX Cosmetics who were on hand to showcase their rockin’ make-up line and give us a makeover. We walked out with a fabulous a gift bag of their Trio Eyeshadow in Rock and Roll (fitting, yes?), Slide on Pencil in Gunmetal, Propel My Eyes Mascara, Pump It Up Lip Plumper in Scarlett, and Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polish in Black. www.nyxcosmetics.com
After glamming it up we headed over to check out a unique new t-shirt line by Lotty Dotty – interactive clothing! These cute and clever shirts are designed with a "doll" painted on the front that has removable items you can dress and redress at your whim! Then it was over to the Fanny Wang Headphone Co. table where they showed off their premium headphones, mixing fashion and function for your ears. Cool clothing was a running theme at the lounge and we were impressed by the awesome t-shirts, tanks and hoodies designed by local LA company Land of Apparel. www.landofapparel.net. After talking to them about their designs it was time to wrap up the day and wave goodbye to the SLS Hotel.
