Nickelodeon Has Gone to The Dogs!

Rufus

Sit! Stay! Watch "Rufus" on Nickelodeon! January 18 at 7:00PM!

Man's best friend takes on a whole new meaning in the laugh-filled, Nickelodeon original TV Movie "Rufus!" Manny has moved to a new school and is having trouble making new friends. Fate intervenes when he finds a magic necklace and puts it on the family dog, his loyal companion "Rufus." The next morning, Rufus emerges as a teenager boy.

Rufus is an instant hit at school and it's fun for a while, but soon Manny can't help but be jealous of how popular Rufus has become. Will he stay in human form forever or will the magic wear off? Will Manny become invisible again when it does? You'll have to tune in to Nickelodeon on January 18 at 7:00pm to find out!

"Henry Danger's" Jace Norman is hysterical as "Rufus!" The cast is also comprised of Davis Cleveland as Manny and "Bella and the Bulldogs" star Haley Tju plays "Paige."

Haley answers a few of our burning questions about this fun, family-oriented feature!

Q.What can you tell us about the movie "Rufus?"

The new Nickelodeon movie "Rufus is about a boy named Manny who moves to a new school. While struggling to fit in and make friends at his new school he finds companionship with his dog Rufus who, in a wild turn of events, turns into a human. Hilarity and chaos ensues. I play the character Paige who is a reporter and wants to interview Rufus because of his rising popularity. Throughout all of the ups and downs, the three friends learn about themselves and each other.

Q. How is your character Paige different than your character on Bella and the Bulldogs?

Paige is different from Pepper because Pepper is more outgoing, fashionable, and has a lot of friends. Paige is very passionate about journalism which makes it difficult for her to bond with other kids making her more of a loner (until she meets Rufus and Manny.)

Q. Do you have a favorite scene from the movie?

I have to say my favorite scenes would have to be all of the action scenes. In the movie Manny, Rufus, and Paige come across some sketchy characters. So all of the chase scenes, stunts, and action sequences were really fun to be a part of.

Q. What did you and the cast do for downtime on the set?

We loved to play card games, hang out, and try some of the great food in Vancouver.

Q. Do you have any pets in real life?

I have two dogs. One of them is a chihuahua/wiener dog named Rose and the other is a cockapoo named Vans. So I had a lot of experience with dogs prior to filming this movie.

Q.What was your most memorable day of filming?

The most memorable day for me was when we filmed on location at this run down paper factory. It was really creepy but added a great energy to the scene.

Q.What advice do you have for teens who might want to get involved in acting?

I'd tell anyone interested in being an actor that rejection is an inevitable part of the job. So it's really important to stay positive, be passionate, and resilient. Also, it's good to surround yourself with people who make you happy and keep you grounded.
